Walter Sorrells is a swordsmith who forges swords and knives designed to appeal to the martial artist and the collector of Japanese-influenced blades.

Because Walter is a practicing martial artist who has studied a number of Japanese sword arts, he demands that his work be not only attractive, but functional.  He has also begun to work with traditional Japanese tamahagane, with the goal of making blades that are functionally equivalent to nihonto (traditionally made Japanese swords).

Walter is pleased to have available for sale one of his favorite blades.  Forged several years ago for a friend, its flamboyant and unusual mounting made a splash when the blade first appeared.  The sword is now available for sale again.  Check the NEW & AVAILABLE page for more information.

Walter also produces instructional videos.  His latest -- How to Make Japanese Sword Fittings -- has just been released. The 2-DVD set (shot in Hi-Def) covers the basics of making Japanese sword fittings, including habakis, fuchis, and kashiras as well as more obscure parts like shitodomes and seppas.
